Salary: Grade K £49,464 - £54,597 per annum (+£2085 call out allowance)
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week

The Royal Borough of Kingston is entering a new era of growth and opportunity and has reviewed its Strategic Planning and Infrastructure service in preparation for the challenges ahead. An opportunity has arisen to lead our Building Control service, which has a crucial role to play in ensuring we achieve high quality outcomes in the future development of the Borough.
About the role
The successful candidate will lead our small, but highly regarded Building Control team, dealing with a wide range of domestic and commercial projects. As well as managing day to day activities, you will provide the strategic leadership and direction necessary to support the continuing development of the Building Control service. You will promote agile ways of working and maximise the opportunities for digitisation, to provide a flexible and resilient service focused on our customer’s needs.
We are looking for an exceptional person to lead our Building Control team through a period of transition. You will have considerable experience in working in either public or private sector Building Control, preferably in a management capacity. Our ambition is to grow the service so you will need to be forward thinking and motivated, with commercial awareness, and an ability to seek out new business opportunities and build partnerships with local enterprises.
