Surveyor (or Senior Surveyor dependant on experience)
£30,000 – £60,000
Construction Site Inspection & Quality Assurance (CSI~QA) conduct independent technical and quality audits, highlighting actual and potential defects from the design phase through to completion, on commercial and residential projects. We provide a comprehensive service and are an integral part of our client’s quality control processes. As such CSI~QA has two full-time vacancies conducting visits in and around the London Area, predominantly within the M25 with some visits along the M40 corridor to Oxford.
This position will involve carrying out site visits and writing reports to communicate existing and potential defects of a project to clients. Surveyors conduct on average 5 site visits per week, and reports are expected to be emailed to the client within 16 working hours of the visit. Frequent travel is typical, and surveyors are expected to work outside in all weather (in line with Health and Safety). When not on-site, you will be required to work from home.
Key Duties
- Conducting on-site visits
- Report writing to communicate existing and potential defects
- Working to NHBC Standard & Building Regulations
- Other duties and tasks as required by the business within the skill set of the role
- Use of construction-specific software such as PlanRadar
- Liaising with, surveyors, project managers, and other professionals on-site, at client offices, or via video conferencing
Salary and Benefits
This position comes with a minimum of 28 days annual leave (including bank holiday) and is subject to a 6-month probationary period, during which you will receive a vehicle allowance for travel for work purposes from your home address as well as company laptop, tablet, phone, and other equipment deemed necessary to fulfill your role.
Upon completion of your probationary period, you will also be entitled to additional company benefits:

Experience
- Minimum of 3 years construction industry experience.
- Reviewing of design
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 4 construction qualification or equivalent professional body qualification
- Able to demonstrate Continuous Professional Development
- Hold a Construction Skills Certification scheme card
Skills
- Ability to work from home
- IT skills including, word processing and spreadsheets
- An interest in and the ability to understand and interpret building regulations, construction processes, legislation requirements
- Written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills to a variety of professional levels.
- Organisational and time management skills
- Willingness to work outside in all conditions
- Capability to work in a hazardous environment and work at heights
- Driving license (adjustments will be considered where appropriate under the equality act)
