Building Control Manager – West Midlands

Salary – Up to £65,000 (DOE)

Our Role

We are looking for a Building Control Manager to oversee our existing team in the West Midlands region, which provides Building Control services based out of our Cannock office. Responsibilities include for the effective management of the day-to-day functions of one of our building control teams. Flexible working arrangements available, including for a mix of home and office-based working.

You will need

• Membership of CABE, CIOB, RICS or equivalent
•  Conversant with relevant legislation, technical guidance and the Construction Industry Council Code of Conduct
• Previous in-house or external building control experience
• Previous management experience or qualification is desirable. Alternatively, we would consider senior surveyor experience with the ability to demonstrate your potential to operate in the position
• An interest in developing staff and ensuring that the team receive regular, candid and structured feedback on their performance
• Ability to manage a busy and mixed caseload of building control projects
• Knowledge and experience of working on large schemes such as high rise residential / mixed use, student accommodation and hotels
• The ability to provide a client-led service, from the early RIBA stages through to completion
• A proactive attitude towards maintaining our existing clients and fostering new relationships with prospective clients
• Current valid driving licence
