Engineering and science education has been given a significant boost with a £500m pledge from the UK Government to foster innovation and equip the next generation of researchers with advanced skills.
Aimed at reinforcing the critical role of engineering and science in addressing global challenges, the fund proposes to nurture talent in fields such as engineering, biology, physical sciences, driving research and contributing to UK economic growth.
Announced by Science Secretary Peter Kyle last month, the investment will support students pursuing advanced degrees across 45 universities in the UK. Students can begin applying in the coming months, with programs commencing next year.
Kyle emphasised the dual goal of supporting the higher education sector and empowering students to "deliver the transformative solutions that benefit all of our lives".
