The Department of Finance has opened applications for the role of Chair of the Northern Ireland Building Regulations Advisory Committee (NIBRAC).
This is a key opportunity for experienced construction professionals to shape evidence-based building standards and influence the future of construction and design in Northern Ireland. The Chair will lead the Committee, coordinate advice to the Department, chair meetings, participate in Technical Sub-Committees, and assist with member recruitment.
Applicants must be chartered or hold equivalent status with at least five years’ experience in architecture, building regulation enforcement, building services, surveying, construction, fire safety or structural engineering.

NIBRAC, established under the Building Regulations (NI) Order 1979, advises on amendments to building regulations. The Chair and members serve without pay but are reimbursed for reasonable expenses. Appointments are made on merit, with any political activity of appointees published.
