Salary: £40,000 £55,000 + Attractive Benefits Package

The Role: Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

You will join the successful estimating and preconstruction team, working on refurbishment and fit-out schemes up to £4m in value. This dual role combines estimating duties with cost management responsibilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include:

  • Site survey and scoping, including scope price build-up
  • Preparing accurate cost estimates and conducting cost analysis
  • Managing budgets, valuations, and cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects, and contractors to resolve issues
  • Assessing cost effectiveness and identifying potential financial risks
  • PQQ/ITT/ITN support and submissions
  • Subcontract enquiry management and procurement
  • Adjusting estimates and budgets based on project changes
  • Maintaining records of estimated and actual costs
  • Liaising with multiple customers and managing departmental tasks
  • Producing pre-construction deliverables and enforcing quality standards
  • Sharing best practices and aligning with core business values
  • Ensuring timely turnaround of quotations and meeting SLAs
  • Supporting departmental growth with innovative approaches

The Right Person:

  • Fit out or refurbishment commercial or housing experience.
  • Familiarity with multi-trade estimating
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong IT skills and adaptability to relevant software
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Diligence, reliability, and a proactive approach
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
