Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We are seeking Quantity Surveyors / Cost Managers to support our clients pivotal energy projects. This role is instrumental in delivering end-to-end commercial and cost control services for transformational projects that support the UK's energy transition strategy.

Projects can be either Nuclear, Carbon, Renewable Energy, Power, Net Zero or Transmission & Distribution. All positions are working on a hybrid basis (3 days a week client site).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle cost management across project lifecycles-from tendering and procurement through to contract negotiation, cost control, and final account settlement.
  • Administer NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4 preferred), overseeing valuations, change control, and cost variance coordination.
  • Provide robust forecasting, monitoring, and reporting of cost performance; ensure accurate and timely financial insights.
  • Drive value engineering and cost optimisation strategies in alignment with project and client needs.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with client teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide junior cost professionals, while contributing to continuous improvement of cost management practices.
What You'll Bring
  • Extensive experience in cost management or quantity surveying within energy, renewables, hydrogen, carbon capture, or natural resources sectors.
  • Degree or HNC qualification in Quantity Surveying or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong commercial and contract management skills, especially within NEC frameworks.
  • Track record in consultancy environments or client-facing roles, capable of steering project success.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adept at managing multiple stakeholders in dynamic delivery settings.
