A well-established, nationally recognised civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their Cornwall-based team in Liskeard, working on a strong and secure pipeline of water sector infrastructure projects.

The Projects

You ll be working on a varied and interesting portfolio of water infrastructure projects, including:
  • Water treatment works
  • Pipelines and strategic mains
  • Reservoirs
  • Pumping stations
  • Associated civils, earthworks and infrastructure
These are well-funded, long-term projects delivered under NEC forms of contract, with realistic programmes and a collaborative commercial approach.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you ll play a key role in the commercial management of live projects from start to finish, working closely with operational teams and supply chain partners.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Commercial management of civil engineering projects
  • Working under NEC contracts
  • Cost control, forecasting and reporting
  • Valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
  • Managing subcontractor packages and procurement
  • Change control, compensation events and commercial risk
  • Supporting project teams to deliver commercially successful outcomes

About You

This role suits a civil engineering grounded Quantity Surveyor who enjoys infrastructure work and wants stability.

You ll bring:
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying (or similar)
  • Experience working in civil engineering or infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Background in one or more of the following:
    • Water / wastewater
    • Highways
    • Infrastructure
    • Rail
    • Earthworks
  • A practical, commercially aware mindset
  • The ability to work collaboratively with delivery teams
