Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Annual Salary: 65,000 to 85,000
• Location: Dorset, with site visits
• Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a Surveyor with a strong background in quantity surveying and preferably, Civils or groundworks. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who is confident and capable of meeting challenging deadlines daily. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including financial reporting, site visits, and client correspondence.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Work within the Commercial team, reporting to the board as necessary.
• Conduct monthly reporting and financial analysis of site activities.
• Perform periodic site visits, typically once per week.
• Discuss site activities with construction teams and submit variations to the client.
• Handle client correspondence, focusing on commercial and contractual matters.
• Measure and quantify from both drawings and site visits.
• Produce Bills of Quantities and cost breakdowns.
• Compile and submit monthly applications.
• Participate in the estimating process as needed.
• Communicate commercial information to other departments.
• Attend client meetings, sometimes alongside Senior Management.
• Form and submit subcontractor enquiries.
• Check and approve subcontractor invoices.
• Perform general administrative duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ideally experienced in Groundworks, Civils or Residential groundworks
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Proficiency in numeracy and literacy.
• Efficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while being self-motivated.
