  • Location: Port Talbot (4 days site-based, 1 day remote)

  • Salary/Rate: 25.00 - 31.60 per hour (Up to 60,000)

  • Duration: Fixed term until March 2028

  • Schedule: Mon-Fri, 08:30-16:45 Mon-Thu and 08:30-15:45 Fri



Key Responsibilities

You will lead the commercial and contractual management of large-scale construction and civil engineering works. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Budgeting: Preparing and reporting on project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.

  • Contract Management: Negotiating variations and change orders under NEC and FIDIC frameworks.

  • Procurement: Overseeing subcontracting from tender through to final accounts.

  • Leadership: Mentoring junior staff and fostering a high-performing commercial culture.

  • Collaboration: Liaising with engineers and planners to ensure total project alignment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management and Chartered status (RICS/CIOB).

  • Experience: Substantial experience in heavy industry, power, or major civil engineering projects.

  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of NEC 3/4, FIDIC, and/or JCT contracts.

  • Logistics: A valid driving licence and your own vehicle , plus full Right to Work in the UK.

  • Attributes: Strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage complex stakeholders.
