The role and responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of highways surfacing projects across the region. You will be responsible for ensuring projects remain financially controlled from tender stage through to final account.
In this Senior Quantity Surveyor role you will be doing the following:
Managing the commercial lifecycle of highways surfacing projects
Preparing, submitting, and agreeing valuations and applications for payment
Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and accounts
Monitoring project costs, forecasts, and budgets
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
Preparing and negotiating variations and final accounts
Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial efficiency across projects
Supporting junior commercial staff where required
Must have skills and experience
To succeed as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will need:
Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
Essential experience within highways surfacing or highways maintenance projects
Strong knowledge of commercial processes within civil engineering or highways works
Experience managing subcontractor accounts and client valuations
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Strong financial and commercial awareness
Full UK driving licence
