About the Senior Structural Engineer role;
My client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Glasgow. This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver innovative structural solutions across a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial building projects, from early-stage concept design through to construction.

You will play a key role in technical delivery, project leadership, and mentoring junior engineers, while working closely with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure high-quality, practical, and cost-effective designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for residential and commercial developments.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Manage projects from concept through detailed design and construction phases.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant UK codes, standards, and regulations.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to project planning and delivery strategies.

Requirements of this Senior Structural Engineer role;

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership.
• Significant experience in structural design for residential and commercial buildings.
• Strong knowledge of UK design standards (Eurocodes and British Standards).
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
