A well-established and highly respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join it s team in Billericay. With a strong reputation for delivering technically robust and innovative structural solutions, our client works on a residential-focused portfolio of projects, often working with leading housebuilders, and prides itself on maintaining a collaborative, technically focused environment where engineers can progress their careers while contributing to high-quality design work.

This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in a talented engineering team, often acting as project leader on a range of challenging projects from concept through to construction. The successful candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of structural schemes, manage project outputs, and work collaboratively with architects, surveyors, and other design professionals. You ll also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, contribute to project planning, and play a visible role in client and stakeholder engagement while helping drive projects to successful completion.

The ideal candidate will have strong design experience, be comfortable managing project elements, and be confident communicating technical concepts to colleagues and clients alike. What You Need To Succeed

  • Proven experience delivering structural engineering design on building projects.
  • Ability to undertake complex structural calculations and develop analytical design models.
  • Experience managing project deliverables, programmes, and budgets.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to clients and colleagues.
  • Experience coordinating with architects, M&E engineers, surveyors, and other members of the design team.
  • Ability to review designs, drawings, and calculations to ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes of practice.
  • Experience mentoring or directing junior engineers and contributing to team development.
  • Chartered Engineer status with the IStructE/ICE (or actively working towards) is highly desirable.

A strong academic background with a BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
