The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer to join a fast-growing, design-focused civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Exeter.
This is not your typical volume-driven consultancy. The team focuses on carefully selected, high-quality residential and commercial projects, delivering tailored engineering solutions with real autonomy and technical input. You ll be involved from early feasibility and planning stages through to project completion playing an active role in shaping schemes, not just delivering them.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you ll take a leading role in project delivery while contributing to the continued growth of the business.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Collaborating closely with architects, consultants, and clients to develop coordinated design solutions
  • Producing high-quality structural designs, drawings, and technical reports
  • Carrying out structural surveys, feasibility studies, and providing planning-stage input
  • Managing client relationships and maintaining clear communication throughout projects
  • Upholding high technical standards and ensuring quality across all deliverables
  • Designing across a range of residential and commercial schemes, from concept through to completion
You ll be trusted to take ownership of your projects, work independently, and make confident technical decisions.

About You

You ll be a confident and capable Structural Engineer who brings:
  • A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Tekla
  • Experience with Revit, Site3D, or Flow (beneficial, not essential)
  • Excellent communication, IT, and report-writing skills
  • The ability to manage your own workload and deliver independently
