My client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in construction and commercial management.

You will work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, gaining hands-on experience and developing a strong understanding of the commercial aspects of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

As a Trainee QS, your duties will include (full training provided):

• Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and project budgets
• Supporting the measurement and valuation of works (both on-site and from drawings)
• Assisting with subcontractor procurement, orders, and payments
• Supporting the monitoring and control of project costs
• Assisting in the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Maintaining accurate records of costs and commercial documentation
• Liaising with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Supporting material and subcontract procurement processes
• Assisting the commercial team with financial reporting and cost tracking
• Learning to identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities

• A strong desire to learn and develop within the construction industry
• Good numerical and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Good IT skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
• A proactive and positive attitude

No prior experience is required full training will be provided.
