About the Role
We are currently seeking a Freelance Building Surveyor to support a range of commercial construction projects based in Newbury, West Berkshire. This role is well suited to a motivated and reliable individual looking to gain or build on practical experience within the commercial sector, while contributing to ongoing project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with building surveys, site inspections, and condition reports
- Support the preparation of basic specifications and schedules of work
- Identify and report on property defects and maintenance requirements
- Monitor site activities to ensure work is progressing in line with plans and standards
- Liaise with site teams, contractors, and project stakeholders as required
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Some experience or academic background in Building Surveying or a related field (preferred but not essential)
- Basic understanding of UK building regulations and construction practices
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior team members
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
