An opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Special Projects Division based out of Chesterfield, delivering projects across the Midlands and wider regions.

This business forms part of a leading UK construction group with a turnover exceeding 1bn, operating across sectors including commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and public sector frameworks.

Its Special Projects Division focuses on delivering schemes typically valued between 10m and 30m, combining new build construction with complex fit-out and refurbishment works. Many projects are delivered within live environments, requiring careful planning and coordination.

The Opportunity

You will support the commercial delivery of projects valued between 10m - 30m across:

  • Distribution centre developments
  • MOD schemes
  • Education sector projects

Projects are a mix of new build construction and fit-out, providing a varied and technically engaging workload.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account
  • Support subcontract procurement, administration, and valuations
  • Contribute to cost reporting, CVRs, and forecasting
  • Assist in managing variations, change control, and final accounts
  • Work closely with site and project teams to support successful delivery
  • Build relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Support senior commercial staff in delivering project targets


About You

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
  • Experience working on projects in the 5m+ to 10m+ range (or exposure to larger schemes)
  • Background in sectors such as industrial, commercial, or public sector projects is beneficial
  • Strong numerical and commercial awareness
  • Eagerness to develop and progress within a supportive team
  • Good communication and organisational skills


Salary & Package

  • 60,000 - 65,000 basic salary
  • Car allowance
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • 4% employer pension contribution
