We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take commercial and financial ownership of a portfolio of hospitality and commercial projects. In this role, you will ensure projects are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with contractual, commercial, and legal obligations.
Working closely with project teams, you will manage valuations, cost forecasts, variations, and change control, ensuring accurate contract administration and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. You will also play a key role in financial risk management, identifying opportunities to optimise project profitability and deliver value to clients.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships will be central to the role, supporting repeat business and long-term project delivery. You will contribute to pre- and post-contract cost studies, support tender preparation, and manage subcontractors from procurement through to final account.
You will also oversee the commercial close-out of additional works and ensure all records are maintained to organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of commercial management across hospitality and commercial projects
Prepare and manage valuations, cost forecasts, and final accounts
Administer contracts, variations, and change control procedures
Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and commercial performance
Support estimating and tender submissions with detailed cost analysis
Produce accurate financial reports and ensure timely project close-out
Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
Requirements
HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or related discipline
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial construction, ideally hospitality projects
Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and negotiation skills
Experience managing subcontractors and supply chains
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency in commercial and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, project management software)
Knowledge of UK construction contracts, statutory requirements, and best practice
