Quantity Surveyor
West Midlands (Birmingham, Derby, Coventry or Tamworth)
Up to 65,000

We are seeking a motivated and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our infrastructure delivery team. Working across major capital programmes in the water, environment, and civil infrastructure sectors, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial management of projects from early-stage feasibility through to final account.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developing QS to build on their technical foundations, gain exposure to complex NEC-based contracts, and progress toward professional chartership within a structured and supportive team.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Degree (BSc or MSc) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Working toward RICS, ICES, or CIOB membership (APC pathway)
  • Understanding of NEC3/4 contract forms
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills
  • Valid CSCS card and right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience in water, environment, or civil infrastructure sectors
  • Familiarity with CDM regulations and risk management principles
  • Ability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support contract administration of NEC3/4 ECC contracts throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with budget control, cost forecasting, and payment valuations
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and contribute to the resolution of contractual matters
  • Help prepare and evaluate tender documentation, including subcontract invitations to tender
  • Contribute to risk identification and the development of mitigation strategies
  • Liaise with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager on all commercial aspects of the project
  • Support final account preparation and post-project review
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the wider project team
