Structural Engineer
Glasgow
First People Solutions is working with a leading consulting engineer, recognised for delivering major design and innovative engineering solutions within complex, high-hazard environments. They operate across sectors such as Power, Life Sciences, Defence, and Aviation. They're now seeking a Structural Engineer to join their expanding team in Glasgow.
You will be involved in a range of interesting and challenging projects, offering the kind of technical challenges you don't find at a standard consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing structural elements across a range of projects, particularly in the power and energy sector. (Substations, grid infrastructure, renewable energy facilities, and others).
- Producing drawings, specifications, and reports to industry standards.
- Working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and efficient solutions.
- Checking calculations, drawings, and supplier information for quality and compliance.
- Supporting junior engineers and contributing to strong technical standards
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3-5 years' experience working in a UK engineering design consultancy
- Experience in the power sector is desirable
- Working towards Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE or IStructE)
- Proficiency in structural analysis software
- Good knowledge of design standards and regulations
