Senior Quantity Surveyor - Freelance (CIS) - 450/day - Onsite

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project at the forefront of the UK's transition to renewable energy.

This role is based on a landmark offshore wind development off the Suffolk coast, forming a critical part of Britain's national grid upgrade and clean energy strategy. The project will enable the transmission of up to 1GW of offshore wind power-enough to supply nearly one million homes-making it a key contributor to the UK's net zero ambitions.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering the onshore substation works, ensuring robust commercial management across a complex and high-value engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial and contractual management of onshore substation works
  • Oversee cost planning, forecasting, and reporting
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and accounts
  • Administer contracts and ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior stakeholders
  • Support project delivery teams with commercial insight and guidance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure or energy projects
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (or similar)
  • Experience working on civil engineering, utilities, or energy schemes
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, site-based environment
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., RICS) preferred
