Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor required for Highways scheme based in to the South of Birmingham, on a freelance basis Outside IR35.

Job Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a central role in managing the commercial aspects of a highways scheme currently in progress. With the project at a stage where compensation events are a major focus, your experience will be essential in ensuring accurate assessment, negotiation, and agreement of these changes.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing and assessing compensation events in line with contract requirements
Overseeing cost control, forecasting, and reporting
Supporting the commercial management of the project lifecycle
Liaising with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and processes
Contributing to the successful financial delivery of the scheme

This is a hybrid role, with 4 days on-site/in the office and 1 day working from home.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on highways or major infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of NEC contracts, particularly in relation to compensation events
Demonstrated ability to manage and negotiate change effectively
Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Availability to start at short notice

Rate is dependent on experience.
