The role and responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a leading role within the commercial team, ensuring effective financial management and supporting successful project delivery. You will be doing the following:
Leading applications, valuations, and commercial reporting processes
Managing project costing, forecasting, and income optimisation
Overseeing change control systems and project risk management
Producing and reviewing Cost to Complete (CTC) and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
Managing the full subcontract lifecycle, from procurement through to final account
Providing strategic commercial advice to project and senior leadership teams
Leading on dispute resolution and contract negotiations
Supporting and guiding Assistant and Quantity Surveyors within the team
Contributing to tendering and pre-construction commercial input
Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors
Travelling to projects across the UK, including occasional overnight stays
Must have skills and experience
To succeed as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will bring:
Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to step up
Degree, HND or HNC in a relevant discipline
Progress towards or achievement of a professional qualification (e.g. RICS or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial systems
Demonstrable leadership, mentoring, and team development experience
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
