Registered Building Inspector (Domestic) - Class 2A

Job Description

Salary up to 46,512 - includes market supplement ( national pay award pending)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Building Inspector (Domestic) - Class 2A to support the delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality building control services across our partner authorities.

In this role you will independently manage a portfolio of domestic projects, conduct plan checks, site inspections and enforcement actions whilst providing clear and practical regulatory guidance to clients, contractors and colleagues. You will also play an important part in responding to dangerous structures, maintaining professional standards and contributing to ongoing service improvement.

You will also mentor trainee inspectors, support the Quality Management System and OSR compliance, maintain accurate records and case notes and build positive working relationships with partner organisations and internal teams.

About You

You will be registered with the BSR as a Class 2A RBI and have experience working in a building control surveying role within a local authority or registered building control approver environment. You will bring strong technical understanding of domestic construction, building regulations and professional codes of practice, and be confident interpreting legislation in a practica, solution-focused way.

Effective communications skills, proficiency with building control software and the ability to manage your workload with accuracy and diligence are essential.
