Senior Building Surveyor

As part of our continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our Brighton office. This is a key role for someone who not only brings strong technical capability but also has a real passion for dilapidations and an interest in helping shape and expand this service within the consultancy.

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you'll play a central role in supporting the Directors and contributing to the smooth running of the business. You'll be involved in an exceptionally varied range of instructions - from detailed technical reporting to project delivery - while also helping to drive the development of our dilapidations offering.

Your work will involve:

• Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients
• Delivering high quality work in line with ISO accreditations and BS76000
• Managing complex projects proactively and independently
• Preparing pathology reports, due diligence surveys, schedules of condition, and planned maintenance reports
• Leading on dilapidations instructions, including preparation and negotiation
• Managing project works as Lead Consultant, Project Manager, Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent
• Supporting Party Wall matters in accordance with the Party Wall etc. Act 1996
• Preparing working drawings, specifications and schedules of work
• Undertaking defects diagnosis, asset condition assessments, and quality monitoring
• Managing fee income for your projects, preparing monthly invoices, and supporting financial performance

You'll also play an active role in team development - helping manage, guide and grow junior staff and contributing to the continuous improvement of our Surveying service.

You'll be an enthusiastic, proactive individual with:

• A degree in Building Surveying or related discipline
• MRICS (or membership of another relevant professional body)
• Strong technical expertise and confidence delivering complex projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to build long term client relationships
• A collaborative, flexible and engaging approach
• A commitment to acting honestly, respectfully and professionally
