About this opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Chartered Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy team. We work with a wide range of public & private sector clients, providing a broad breadth of commercial building surveying services within the Central & Greater London area.

Working as a Senior Building Surveyor you will be a client facing surveyor and a key point of contact for clients, predominantly commercial landlords within Central London.

You will deliver surveys & reports, provide expert advice, and deliver various fit out, refurbishment & remedial projects across commercial assets, operating across commercial estates for a range of private & public sector clients.

Responsibilities
  • Working collaboratively to meet and exceed team goals & objectives
  • Building excellent client relationships through proactive, positive engagement, and clear, professional communication
  • Delivering high quality building surveying services in line with customer requirements to meet or exceed expectations
  • Delivering a range of services including building surveys, dilapidations & party wall advice
  • Delivering building projects from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover and post completion reviews
  • Preparing and managing planned maintenance programmes

Who we're looking for Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
  • Detailed knowledge and practical experience delivering commercial building surveys and producing reports
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies
  • Experience acting as contract administrator or employer's agent for JCT or NEC contracts
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changes
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
  • Ability to use AutoCAD software to create or amend designs
  • Sound IT skills and familiarity using full MS office suite
Qualifications
  • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) OR
  • MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Building)
