The Opportunity
- I'm currently working in partnership with a well-established and growing main contractor based in Lincolnshire who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
- This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key role within a business that has a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, offering both stability and the chance to make a genuine impact. The company operates across a diverse portfolio of projects, typically ranging in value from £500k to £5m, delivered through competitive tenders, framework agreements, and their own developments.
- You'll be joining a close-knit commercial team of 10, with a strong, supportive culture and the opportunity to influence how the team continues to develop.
The Role
- As a Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring commercial success and effective cost control.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the commercial delivery of multiple construction projects
- Preparing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
- Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and payments
- Overseeing contractual administration (JCT experience advantageous)
- Monitoring project performance and reporting on cost/value
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team (if stepping into Managing QS level)
- Contributing ideas and improvements to processes and team performance
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
- Ability to manage projects independently (Senior level) or lead across multiple projects/teams (Managing QS level)
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to contribute to team improvements
- Full UK driving licence
