Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Up to £60,000 + £7,000 Car Allowance + Benefits

The Opportunity

  • I'm currently working in partnership with a well-established and growing main contractor based in Lincolnshire who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
  • This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key role within a business that has a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, offering both stability and the chance to make a genuine impact. The company operates across a diverse portfolio of projects, typically ranging in value from £500k to £5m, delivered through competitive tenders, framework agreements, and their own developments.
  • You'll be joining a close-knit commercial team of 10, with a strong, supportive culture and the opportunity to influence how the team continues to develop.

    The Role
  • As a Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring commercial success and effective cost control.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing the commercial delivery of multiple construction projects
  • Preparing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and payments
  • Overseeing contractual administration (JCT experience advantageous)
  • Monitoring project performance and reporting on cost/value
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team (if stepping into Managing QS level)
  • Contributing ideas and improvements to processes and team performance


What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
  • Ability to manage projects independently (Senior level) or lead across multiple projects/teams (Managing QS level)
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach and willingness to contribute to team improvements
  • Full UK driving licence
