Job title: Building Surveyor

Salary: 30,000 - 45,000 PA + Benefits
Location: Sheffield
Hours of work: 36 Hours Per Week - Fully Site Based (Please note you may have to travel occasionally to other locations as per project needs)
The Role:
You will take responsibility for managing projects end-to-end, acting as both Project Manager and primary client contact. Using your expertise in building pathology, construction methods, materials, and current industry regulations, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest professional standards.
Main Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Ensure the company's quality assurance processes on all projects are followed at all times and ensure standard documentation is used when presenting internal and external information
Meet with clients to discuss project ideas and construction requirements
Inspect existing buildings for flaws and defects
Take lead on surveys and the creation of reports
Carry out feasibility studies
Advise on all aspects of health and safety and environmental impact, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
Advise on contractors and organizing documents for tender
Manage planning applications and statutory approvals
Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget
Take lead in meetings, producing accurate records, notes and minutes
Monitor progress of work, identify risks and implement timely resolutions
Review reports and data prepared by other members of the team, identifying any errors for correction
Assist in providing good quality management reporting on service delivery and support the planning of operational work.
Support project team to achieve well planned and managed integrated solutions that progress effective change and improvement in the organisation and support the best environmental outcomes.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
Experience/Qualifications:
Candidates MUST be Degree qualified in Building Surveying or related discipline
Professionally qualified or working towards chartership (e.g., MRICS)
Proven experience within the construction or property sector
Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and building pathology
Excellent communication and client facing skills
Proactive, organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organisational and project management ability
Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation
