Job Description

A leading multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy are now seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their established Oxford team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor looking to work across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, education, residential, healthcare and public sector projects. The Building Surveyor will deliver a broad range of Building Surveying services, lead projects, develop client relationships and support the growth of the Building Surveying team. The successful Building Surveyor will gain exposure to both professional and project-led Building Surveying instructions across a varied property portfolio.

The successful Building Surveyor will be joining a well-established consultancy with a strong presence across the UK property and construction market. The business delivers Building Surveying, Project Management and multidisciplinary consultancy services to a wide range of public and private sector clients. The Building Surveyor will work alongside experienced professionals on projects ranging from refurbishment and maintenance works through to large-scale developments.



The Role

As the Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering both professional and project-focused Building Surveying services across a diverse client base.

The role will include:

Client management and contract administration duties
Providing advice on the design, construction, maintenance and refurbishment of buildings
Undertaking building, measured and condition surveys
Identifying and reporting on building defects
Preparing specifications, schedules of work and maintenance programmes
Administering refurbishment and maintenance contracts
Preparing schedules of dilapidations
Advising on planning applications and property-related matters
Undertaking Party Wall instructions including Notices, Awards and Schedules of Condition



The Building Surveyor?

You will be an experienced Building Surveyor with strong technical knowledge and previous consultancy experience. Applications from candidates without relevant Building Surveying experience will not be considered.

The Building Surveyor must have:

Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related property discipline
MRICS preferred
Previous consultancy experience
Strong client-facing and communication skills
Experience delivering both professional and project Building Surveying services
Knowledge of contract administration and project delivery
Ability to manage client relationships and support business development activities
