Job Description


Our client, a council authority that ensures compliance with building regulations, is currently seeking a Registered Building Inspector - Class 2F to join their Building Control department on a contract basis for maternity cover.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting building sites to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and building codes
  • Assessing plans, specifications, and construction practices to verify compliance
  • Issuing notices and reports related to building inspections
  • Providing expert advice to builders, developers, and property owners
  • Investigating complaints and conducting follow-up inspections as required
  • Maintaining accurate records of all inspections and findings
  • Collaborating with the Building Control team to ensure consistency in service delivery
  • Staying updated with changes in building regulations and industry best practices


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Building Control within the construction industry
  • Registered Building Inspector - Class 2F certification
  • Strong understanding of statutory regulations and building codes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide clear and comprehensive reports and notices
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant qualifications in building inspection or a related field
