Structural Engineer

Our client, a well-established structural engineering consultancy based on the outskirts of Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their growing team.
This opportunity would suit a degree-qualified engineer with a minimum of five years' post-graduate experience who is looking to take ownership of projects and work with a high degree of autonomy. The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects across the education, healthcare, residential and commercial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking structural design and analysis for a variety of building projects
- Designing all principal structural elements in accordance with current UK standards and regulations
- Preparing structural calculations, technical reports and supporting design documentation
- Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other members of the design team
- Attending site visits and project meetings as required
- Managing workload effectively and delivering projects with minimal supervision
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years' structural engineering experience gained within the UK
- Demonstrable experience designing all major structural elements
- Proven ability to work independently and confidently manage projects
- Experience across education, healthcare, residential and commercial developments
- Strong knowledge of UK construction methods, Building Regulations and British Standards
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
