About the Role:
My client is a specialist interior fit-out and refurbishment contractor delivering high-quality commercial, education, healthcare and workplace projects across the South West and beyond. Known for our collaborative approach, attention to detail and commitment to excellence, we are continuing to grow and are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Somerset.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects and wants the flexibility of a genuine hybrid working arrangement.
The Role:
As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with the Operations and Delivery teams, you will ensure projects are delivered profitably whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
The position offers a highly flexible working pattern, with four days per week working from home and one day in the Somerset office, along with occasional site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the commercial aspects of multiple fit-out and refurbishment projects.
- Preparing and reviewing subcontractor packages, orders and agreements.
- Producing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Monitoring project costs and forecasting financial performance.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
- Managing subcontractor accounts, variations and change control processes.
- Supporting project managers with procurement and cost management.
- Preparing financial reports for senior management.
- Building and maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships.
About You:
- Previous experience within construction, fit-out, interiors or refurbishment projects.
- Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive and organised approach to work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant commercial systems.
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
