Quantity Surveyor

Commercial professional role supporting the Engineering team in delivering water infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include contract administration, negotiation, performance reporting, risk management, and process improvement.

• Administer NEC framework contracts for Engineering projects.
• Support Project Managers in contract administration and commercial negotiations.
• Draft NEC compliant contracts and sections for the technical Engineering team.
• Report monthly project performance against KPIs.
• Assess pricing and risk elements of tenders, quotes, and pricing.
• Prepare directorate reporting of forecast completion, cost, value to date, forecast outcome, and planned completion for portfolio projects.
• Advocate continual improvement of departmental processes and procedures, including contract adjustments.
• Support Health, Safety and Wellbeing approach by visiting sites, completing safety observations, and promoting safe sites.
• Manage Early Warning, Compensation Event and Risk tools and business systems.

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
• Experience in quantity surveying or contract management in construction industry, with practical awareness of NEC contracts and administration.
• Experience managing teams and excellent report writing, editorial, and oral communication skills.
• Strong organisational and delivery focus, with good team ethic.
• Understanding of Health and Safety regulations relevant to the role.
• Will pursue NEC contract training and seek RICS chartership.

• Salary £55,000 - £60,000 p.a. (dependent on experience).
