Senior Quantity Surveyor

A Senior Quantity Surveyor is an experienced QS who has a track record in managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

• Orders information and systematically checks data.
• Maximises digital opportunities.
• NEC Option E Administration
• Compiling applications for payment, managing contractual communications and ensuring consistent and contemporaneous records in place.
• Agreeing Final Account for the scheme with the Client, through closing out change management on the CEMAR system in addition to preparing and negotiating the final account settlement following on from the interim final accounting procedures put in place.
• Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works.
• Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programme.
• Monitors subcontract activities, measures and responds appropriately.
• Analyses the commercial progress and reports to senior project staff.
• Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility.
• Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes.
• Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy.
• Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required.
• Undertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility.
• Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required.
• Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation.
• Preparation and presentation of CVR for both the London Street and NHS Mint Wing scheme.
• Maintain a Personal Development Plan.
• Manages HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (PDRs etc).
• Actively supports the development of others including professional mentoring.
• Produces plans for team to achieve goals / aspirations.
• Supports recruitment of lower grades.

• Ideally a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent.
• Experience of Quantity Surveying gained from any of these industries; Rail, Construction or Civil Engineering.
• Strong Final Account Closure & Client negotiation experience.
• Line Management experience.
• Commercial Management experience.
• Has a good knowledge/able to develop knowledge of and adheres to the Company's GMCEs, BMS and other governance.
• Strong Communication & Teamwork ability.
• Achievement Focus (Achieving Results).
