Quantity Surveyor Main Contractor Wakefield £50k - £60k + Package We're currently working with a well-established regional main contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Wakefield.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business delivering a diverse range of construction projects across the commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and public sectors. The role is predominantly office-based, with occasional site visits to support project delivery and maintain strong relationships with clients and site teams.
What You'll Be Doing;
- Managing the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects from procurement through to final account.
- Preparing valuations, cost reports, forecasts and final accounts.
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages.
- Identifying and managing variations and commercial risk.
- Working closely with Contracts Managers, site teams and clients to maximise project performance.
- Attending site visits and commercial meetings as required.
What You'll Need;
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project costs and subcontract accounts.
- Good understanding of JCT contracts.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) would be advantageous.
