Are you an experienced Building Surveyor ready to take the lead on improving and protecting a diverse social housing portfolio? This is an exciting opportunity to join Wolverhampton Homes in a senior professional role, leading our Property Inspectorate function while providing expert surveying, asset management and investment advice across thousands of homes.

You'll help shape investment decisions across our housing stock, leading on complex building issues, planned investment programmes and long term asset strategy to ensure our homes remain safe, compliant and fit for the future.

What you'll be doing

As our Building Surveyor, you'll provide technical leadership and strategic direction across a wide range of asset management activities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and developing our Property Inspectorate Team
  • Delivering strategic asset planning and investment recommendations
  • Managing complex building pathology, structural and compliance issues
  • Producing option appraisals and technical reports to inform investment decisions
  • Overseeing planned maintenance and refurbishment projects
  • Reviewing designs, specifications and construction proposals for major projects
  • Supporting compliance with building safety, housing and health and safety legislation
  • Working closely with customers, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes for residents
