The Role of the Senior Building Surveyor Birmingham

Reporting directly to the Regional Office Director, you will deliver a comprehensive range of professional and project-based building surveying services across the West Midlands. This is a dynamic role balancing technical independence with team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a diverse mix of commercial and residential schemes, taking projects from initial client brief to completion.

  • Deliver core professional services including Dilapidations, Party Wall matters, Defects Analysis, and Pre-Acquisition Due Diligence.

  • Act as Contract Administrator and Employer's Agent, utilizing strong working knowledge of JCT Contracts and CDM Regulations.

  • Manage client accounts, preparing detailed asset appraisals and technical reports.

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to junior surveyors and APC candidates within the Birmingham office.

Candidate Requirements
  • Professional Status: MRICS Chartered status is highly preferred. Accomplished, non-chartered candidates who possess extensive, robust practical experience in traditional building surveying within the UK consultancy sector are encouraged to apply.

  • Education: A formal Degree qualification BSc in Building Surveying is preferred, other RICS-accredited construction degrees are acceptable alongside strong regional experience.

  • Technical Breadth: Proven experience executing professional services Surveys, Dilapidations, Party Wall across both commercial and residential sectors. Exposure to healthcare, education, or historic/conservation schemes is highly advantageous.

  • Software & Systems: Proficient with technical reporting and contract administration frameworks.

  • Mobility: A valid UK driving licence : Required for local site visits and regional client travel.

Salary, Package & Benefits
