Job Description

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will join a respected multi-disciplinary consultancy in Bristol, operating on a permanent, full-time basis with hybrid working. This role involves delivering cost management and commercial advice across a diverse portfolio of high-profile UK developments, from inception to completion. You will manage contracts, oversee project finances, and provide strategic guidance to ensure successful delivery. With a salary of £60,000 to £65,000 per annum, this position suits an experienced professional ready to progress within a supportive, established team. The consultancy combines larger-firm resources with a close-knit culture, offering a balanced environment for career development.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects across a range of sectors, managing costs, contracts and commercial performance while building strong client relationships.

  • Providing pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services
  • Producing cost plans, estimates and feasibility studies
  • Managing procurement and tender processes
  • Preparing tender documentation and contract particulars
  • Contract administration and change control management
  • Undertaking valuations, cost reporting and final account negotiations
  • Monitoring project budgets and financial performance
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Identifying opportunities to develop existing and new client relationships
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards chartership
  • Proven consultancy-side Quantity Surveying experience
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Confident client-facing and stakeholder management abilities
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Experience within the retail sector would be desirable
  • A full UK driving licence
