Skilled Careers are working with a leading property services contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Worcester.
The business delivers planned maintenance, refurbishment, compliance and specialist property services across a range of public sector and highly regulated environments, including healthcare, education and commercial property.
This is a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys having genuine commercial responsibility and is comfortable working across multiple projects within a structured, framework-led environment.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management and financial performance of a range of interior, fit-out and refurbishment projects, typically ranging from £250k to £2.5m+.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial delivery of projects from start through to final account
- Preparing and reviewing valuations, forecasts and cost reports
- Managing subcontractor accounts, applications and final accounts
- Managing variations, ensuring accurate pricing and appropriate commercial justification
- Preparing budgets, cashflow forecasts and CVRs
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure strong commercial performance
- Ensuring compliance with contract requirements, Schedule of Rates and client procedures
- Supporting audits, reporting and wider commercial governance
- Building effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
About You
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background and experience working within property services, refurbishment, fit-out, construction or public sector environments.
You should have:
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
- Experience managing projects valued from £250k to £2.5m+
- Strong subcontractor account and valuation experience
- Good understanding of JCT and NEC contracts
- Experience with cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Strong contractual and commercial awareness
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good Excel and commercial systems knowledge
