Our client is an established and growing construction consultancy providing commercial and pre-construction services across a diverse range of sectors. With a strong industry reputation and an expanding client base, they are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support continued growth.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where you ll gain exposure to a wide variety of projects, work closely with clients and become an important part of a growing team. Unlike many consultancy roles, this position offers hands-on involvement across a range of sectors rather than being restricted to a single framework or client.

Based between the Watford office and client offices, the role also offers the prospect of increased hybrid working as the business continues to evolve.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you ll support clients across a varied portfolio of construction projects, providing commercial expertise from project inception through to final account.

Projects span a range of sectors including:

  • Refurbishment
  • Prime Residential
  • Groundworks & Infrastructure
  • Electrical Works
  • Commercial Construction
  • New Build Developments

The role will involve working closely with clients, contractors and project teams, providing commercial advice and helping ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

Cost planning and commercial reporting

Procurement and tender management

Contract administration

Valuations and payment assessments

Variation management

Cost forecasting and cost control

Final accounts

Commercial risk management

Client liaison and stakeholder management

Supporting projects from pre-construction through to completion

About You

We re keen to speak with Quantity Surveyors who have approximately 5-6 years experience and are looking to further develop their careers within a consultancy environment.

Candidates from the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply:

Experience working with NEC and/or JCT contracts would be beneficial but is not essential.

Most importantly, we re looking for somebody with strong commercial awareness, a proactive attitude and the ability to build excellent working relationships with clients and project teams.

Professional qualifications are welcomed but are not considered essential for the right individual.
