Legal Disrepair SurveyorLocation: South East LondonRate: £400 per day umbrellaContract: 6 months ongoingWorking Pattern: 2.5 days on site / 2.5 days working from homeHours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pmWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Disrepair Surveyor to join a local authority in South East London on a 6-month ongoing contract.The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting properties, assessing repair and disrepair issues, and providing professional technical advice in relation to housing disrepair claims.Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections of residential properties in relation to legal disrepair cases.
  • Identify and assess defects, repairs and property condition issues.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, schedules of works and technical recommendations.
  • Provide technical evidence and professional advice relating to disrepair claims.
  • Liaise with tenants, legal representatives, contractors and internal housing teams.
  • Monitor remedial works and ensure repairs are completed to the required standard.
  • Assess repair histories and relevant documentation.
  • Support the council in responding to legal disrepair claims and reducing financial exposure.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant housing, health and safety and building legislation.
About YouThe ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven experience working as a Legal Disrepair Surveyor or in a similar housing surveying role.
  • Strong knowledge of housing disrepair and residential property defects.
  • Experience preparing technical reports and schedules of works.
  • Knowledge of relevant housing legislation, regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Experience working with local authorities or housing associations would be desirable.
  • A relevant surveying, building or property qualification is preferred.
