Are you a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in major civil engineering works?

Looking for a commercially significant role where you can take ownership of high-value packages on a major infrastructure scheme?

Salary: £65,000 to £80,000 plus London weighting allowance.
Location: Essex, office attendance minimum of 3 days per week.

This position sits within a specialist commercial consultancy that is regularly appointed into senior commercial and change roles on some of the UK s most significant infrastructure programmes. The business is known for its strong NEC expertise, proactive commercial approach, and ability to influence project outcomes in complex, high-pressure environments.

You ll be embedded within a major delivery team, taking responsibility for high-value civil engineering packages while also supporting complex change management, compensation events and wider commercial strategy under NEC contracts.

Essential requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within heavy civil infrastructure projects (typically 6+ years experience), ideally on large, complex programmes
  • Background working for a main or principal contractor (strong subcontractor backgrounds also considered)
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Strong NEC3 or NEC4 contract experience, particularly Options A and C
  • Experience managing high-value, complex commercial packages
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in client-facing environments
  • Chartership is preferred, or you should be actively working towards it

  • This is a permanent position on a long-term programme
  • The selection process includes two to three interview stages, with a face-to-face interview forming part of the process
