Your new role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of water mains renewal and diversion projects. Working under NEC contracts, you will be responsible for managing applications for payment, subcontractor accounts, client queries, compensation events and commercial reporting.A key part of the role will involve producing accurate material and work take-offs from client drawings and designs, identifying project requirements and helping to reduce compensation events through thorough planning and commercial management.
Key responsibilities include:

• Managing applications for payment and subcontractor certificates.
• Producing material and work quantity take-offs from client designs and drawings.
• Assessing and managing compensation events under NEC contracts.
• Responding to client commercial queries and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Preparing weekly progress and commercial reports.
• Reviewing and validating site information and commercial data received from operational teams.
• Supporting procurement activities and cost forecasting.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and activity logs.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the utilities or water sector.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Ability to undertake detailed quantity take-offs from technical drawings and designs.
• Experience managing compensation events, applications and subcontractor accounts.
• Excellent organisation and record-keeping skills.
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients.
• Ability to analyse site information and translate it into accurate commercial outputs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems.
