Senior Quantity Surveyor

A leading construction and property consultancy is continuing to grow its Cost & Commercial team in Edinburgh and across the East of Scotland, creating an opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the business.
The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex, high-value projects across a diverse range of sectors, including education, residential, infrastructure and public sector developments.
You'll join a collaborative and established team where you'll have the opportunity to work closely with clients and senior stakeholders while contributing to the continued growth of the regional business.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a leading role in the commercial delivery of major projects, providing high-quality cost and commercial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the commercial delivery of major construction projects.
• Managing cost control, commercial performance and project risk.
• Taking ownership of key client and stakeholder relationships.
• Providing clear reporting on financial performance, risks and opportunities.
• Undertaking both pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying duties.
• Advising clients and project teams on commercial matters and procurement.
• Working across multidisciplinary project teams to drive best practice.
• Supporting and mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors and developing team capability.
• Contributing to bids, business development and the growth of existing client relationships.
• Supporting the wider Scottish and Northern Ireland regional practice.

We're looking for a confident and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor who is ready to take ownership of major projects and develop their career within a leading consultancy.
Ideally, you will have:

• A BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• MRICS qualified or working towards chartership.
• Strong experience across both pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying.
• Proven experience delivering complex projects within a consultancy or client-side environment.
• Good knowledge of SBCC/JCT and NEC contracts.
• Strong understanding of NRM and cost planning methodologies.
• Excellent commercial awareness and client-facing skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Confidence leading projects, influencing stakeholders and supporting junior colleagues.
• Good digital skills, including Microsoft Office and ideally Power BI.
• A proactive approach with the ambition to contribute to the wider growth of the business.
