Building Surveyor
- Location: Swinton, Greater Manchester
- Job Type: Temporary, Full-time
- Hourly Rate: £21.51
We are seeking a Building Surveyor responsible for delivering high-quality services across private, education, and local authority sectors. This role involves early-stage design, feasibility work, and acting as Project Manager on various capital projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Responsible for early-stage design and feasibility work alongside clients.
- Develop detailed briefs in conjunction with clients and carry out detailed design work.
- Prepare production information and administer building contracts.
- Act as 'Lead Discipline' on programmed capital projects.
- Undertake professional surveying work including surveys, Party Wall (PW) work, dilapidations, Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) & Fire Risk Assessments (FRA's).
- Conduct inspections to resolve building defects, assign contractors, and manage the works effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- BSc in Building Surveying or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience within a Building Surveying environment.
- Proven experience in delivering building and construction projects from inception to completion, valued up to £5M.
- Demonstrable experience in the preparation of specifications and tender documents.
- Strong background in Building Surveying, Project Management, and Property Asset Management surveys.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Skilled in managing project budgets and procurement related to building works through competitive tendering.
- Advanced ICT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of current legislation such as Health & Safety, CDM, and Building Regulations.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
