The Opportunity
We are currently working with a well-established London-based consultancy who are looking to appoint a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Quantity Surveying graduate looking to take their first step into a professional consultancy environment, gain valuable industry experience and develop their career alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors.
The successful candidate will receive hands-on exposure to a variety of projects and will have the opportunity to build a strong foundation in both quantity surveying and cost consultancy.
The Role
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will support the wider quantity surveying team across a range of projects, assisting with both pre- and post-contract duties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Senior and Project Quantity Surveyors across live projects
- Assisting with cost planning, estimating and budgeting
- Preparing and reviewing bills of quantities and tender documentation
- Assisting with tender analysis and procurement activities
- Supporting the preparation of valuations, variations and final accounts
- Assisting with cost reporting and financial tracking
- Attending project and client meetings where appropriate
- Liaising with contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
- Developing your understanding of commercial and contractual processes
- Working towards your professional development and long-term career progression
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious graduate who is keen to establish a career within quantity surveying and consultancy.
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career within the construction and property sector
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Good attention to detail
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A full UK driving licence
- Full UK right to work - sponsorship is not available for this position
Previous industry experience or a placement year would be advantageous but is not essential. The key requirement is the right attitude, willingness to learn and ambition to progress.
