Senior Quantity Surveyor

Senior Quantity Surveyor required in London

GVR Solutions are currently representing a very well-established main contractor, who are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The initial focus will be on a 16m refurbishment project in Central London which will be approx. 70 weeks.

Senior Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:

• Reporting to a Managing Surveyor and will be supported by a Junior Quantity Surveyor
• Take day-to-day commercial ownership of the project from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare subcontract enquiry packages, tender comparisons and buying analyses; procure and negotiate subcontract packages.
• Prepare and agree subcontract orders and manage applications, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Prepare and submit monthly client applications / valuations and manage client variations and change control.
• Attend and contribute to client, consultant and commercial meetings; maintain a strong relationship with the client QS.
• Maintain project CVRs, forecasts, cost-to-complete information, cash flow, WIP and commercial records.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, including contractual notices, EOT and loss and expense where required.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and wider delivery team to protect commercial performance.

Requirements for the Senior Quantity Surveyor:

• Degree qualified or Equivalent qualification in Construction
• Strong experience working for a main contractor on refurbishment or fit out projects
• Comfortable working on projects up to 20m
• Good knowledge of JCT contracts
• Strong procurement, buying and account management
• Client facing
• Confident with CVRs, forecasting, cost reporting and commercial risk management.
