District Works Manager in the Office of Public Works

The Office of Public Works (OPW) is a key service provider to the Government. A core part of its remit is maintaining and presenting Ireland’s most iconic heritage sites & properties. OPW is responsible for the management and maintenance of the State’s property portfolio, providing accommodation to central Government Departments, An Garda Síochána and other State agencies. It is also the lead agency for flood risk management in Ireland.

The OPW is now seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and committed individual to take up the role of District Works Manager in its Heritage Services – National Monuments section. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation dedicated to supporting staff to realise their full potential with access to professional development opportunities and career progression.

Reporting to the Senior Conservation Architect who oversees works programmes in the district, the District Works Manager will be responsible for a team of specialist craftspeople and industrial staff such as general operatives and will manage the implementation of planned inspections of National Monuments sites.
